Real Madrid are missing their footprint: Creating less with poor finishing

It is clear that Real Madrid have problems with goals this season because after 18 games they have only scored 36.
That is an average of just two goals per game.

At this point, last season Los Blancos had 11 more (47) despite having played three fewer games (15), an average per game of 3.13.Against Tottenham, Real Madrid needed nine shots on goal to score once, Cristiano Ronaldo doing so in the 80th minute when the game was already 3-0.

"We had chances to draw, but as has been happening lately, we did not find the goal, " Zinedine Zidane declared after the game.

This season, the number of shots on goal by Zidane`s side has dropped too (131).

Real average 7.27 shots per game when a year ago they reached 8.13.

To score, they need 3.63 shots on goal, 12 months ago only 2.59.

Significantly, the number of assists has dropped alarmingly.

This season, Real Madrid players have only given 21 in 18 games but after 15 matches a year ago, they had eleven more (32).

In the 18 matches played, Los Blancos have only been able to score three goals four times: against Dortmund and APOEL in the Champions League and against Deportivo and Eibar in the league.

Real Betis was the one game so far this season where they haven`t scored.
